GROWTH & DEVELOPMENT!

-Hypothesis: If during the period of time the unknown organisms change and get bigger then it will be a living organism.

-Materials:
1. Petri-Dishes
2. The 3 unknown substances.
3. A few seeds
4. Tap water
5. Paper towel

-Definition: Growth and Development is when a living things changes to better ensure it's survival, or any changes in the amount of living matter that makes up the organism.

-Control: Our control is the seeds.

- What our plan is: We are going to take 4 petri-dishes. In one of the dishes we are going to have the seeds, then in another unknown a, and another unknown b, and the last dish is unknown c. Then we will see if any growth/development happens over a period of time using a microscope and the naked eye.We put very little of each substance into the separate petri-dishes.

-Observations:
Day 1: Unknown substance A was stuck together and grainy. They are a yellow-ish color and they were fragile.
Unknown substance B was small and clumped together. They are hard and a clear color.
Unknown substance C was hard and very close together.
Day 2: Unknown substance A was condensed and small. It was very tiny and hard to see until we looked at it under the microscope. You could barely see it when it was in the petri-dish.
Unknown substance B cells spread apart. The cells also got bigger.
Unknown substance C the water made them come together. They swelled up to at least twice their regular size.
The seeds were the same as the first day. Nothing changed to them.
Day 3: The seeds are growing roots.
Unknown A: was still very small and condensed.
Unknown B: was spread apart.
Unknown C: the water made them come out.
